A long-term research vision for more individualised, evidence-led investigation. “Plan per Patient” explores whether validated biological measurements, carefully defined research questions and plant science can help guide future research into individual differences.
This is an early-stage concept, not a company service, diagnostic system, treatment plan or clinical programme. No patient testing, health-data collection or personalised recommendations are offered through this website.
The research question
People differ in biology, health history, environment and response to interventions. A future research programme could investigate which measurable biological signals are relevant to a clearly defined question, and whether compounds found in plants warrant further study in that context.
A test result does not automatically establish a deficiency or explain a symptom. A compound occurring in a plant is not automatically effective, safe or appropriate as a treatment. Each candidate would need evidence on measurement validity, biological relevance, efficacy, dose, safety, interactions and product quality.
A responsible route to research
- Define a focused question: identify a specific biological question and the evidence needed to answer it.
- Review the evidence: map relevant literature, existing tests, patents and research gaps with independent scientific advisers.
- Validate measurement: identify appropriate, validated analytical methods and qualified laboratories before interpreting any signal.
- Assess ethics, privacy and regulation: obtain specialist review before any work involving people, health data, genetic data, diagnostics or recommendations.
- Develop a funded proposal: agree scientific leadership, governance, partners, budget and measurable milestones before considering a pilot.
What must be established first
The project would need to establish which measurements are meaningful and reproducible, how results should be interpreted, what risks and interactions are relevant, and what evidence would justify further study. Health and genetic information require strong protections. Any patient-facing test, recommendation or software would need a case-specific legal and regulatory assessment.
Current stage and collaboration
The current work is concept formation and research planning. The next practical step is to develop a small, evidence-based scoping proposal with independent scientific, clinical, analytical, ethics, privacy and regulatory expertise. No clinical partner, funding award or medical validation is claimed here.
010Genetics is interested in hearing from researchers, universities, analytical laboratories, clinicians, patient representatives and responsible funders who would like to discuss the scope, feasibility or governance of this long-term idea.
